Ancient principles dictate size, placement and organization of buildings and lots, as well as determining
which lots can be built upon. The 'ideal' grid - a 1/2 mile by 1/2 mile 'quarter section' of farmland -
becomes 'particularized' as it overlays onto existing conditions, and as density grows.
